Heartfelt messages and prayers pour in for former Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, 87, who had undergone a heart surgery, had agreed to advise Punjab Government on  ways to cope with the economic and humanitarian crisis in the wake of the pandemic. He complained of chest pain on Sunday evening and was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. (AIIMS)

The former PM was admitted to the Cardio-thorasic department at AIIMS and was under observation in the ICU at the time of reporting. His condition is now reported Well wishers took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery. Prayers for his well-being poured in over twitter. 

Former J & K chief minister Omar Abdullah was among the first to post a get well message. “Sorry to hear about Dr Manmohan Singh being admitted to hospital. I hope he recovers & is back home with his family soon. His wise counsel and guidance are much needed during this time of crisis,” he tweeted.

Simi Garewal, film and TV personality tweeted, “ Sir - fight for your good health - fight for us! - for India! - fight in your gentle way. Sending you our prayers and powerful vibes to heal you...”

Author and commentator Tony Joseph said, “Hope he recovers fast and well. His presence elevates our politics and keeps open the idea that there’s another way for us to be - graceful, peaceful and growthful”
