AAP Dissolves Block-Level Units, State Panel In Punjab

Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 May, 2017 01:04 PM
AAP on Monday dissolved all units from block-level to state committee in Punjab. The party will reconstitute all the units soon.

As of now, only two office-bearers hold their posts — Bhagwant Mann as state president and Aman Arora state co-president.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Bhagwant Mann.

Mann was appointed new Punjab chief and Arora his deputy last week.

The move had, however, triggered fresh trouble for the party as the chief whip in the Assembly, Sukhpal Khaira, resigned from the post in protest.

The Bholath MLA had openly protested after national convener Arvind Kejriwal announced Mann as the most popular choice.

Two days after Mann’s appointment, former AAP state convener Gurpreet Ghuggi, too, had quit the party.
