AAP accuses BJP of offering bribe to its legislators

Darpan News Desk IANS, 18 Jun, 2014 11:19 AM
The Aam Aadmi Party Wednesday accused the BJP of offering money to its legislators for their support in forming the government in the national capital.

A party statement said the Bharatiya Janata Party has been trying to lure AAP legislators by offering money and posts for the last few days.

"A leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal and a person identifying himself as a Supreme Court lawyer and an active BJP member have been instrumental in this. These people have been contacting AAP MLAs but to no avail," the statement said.

All the legislators reported the matter to the party's central leadership.

A meeting was held at Delhi Constitution Club with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. The party's Political Affairs Committee members Kumar Vishwas and Gopal Rai were also present in the meeting.

"We demand that the BJP should immediately stop its low-level politics. The assembly should immediately be dissolved and elections should be declared," the AAP said in the statement.

The legislators passed the resolution that they would only respect the decision of the court in the alleged harassment case filed by Ugandan women against their leader Somnath Bharti.
