Hyderabad Police have seized amphetamine drugs worth Rs 8.5 crore and arrested three accused. In a joint operation, the city police and Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) seized 8.5 kg of amphetamine drug and arrested a drug peddler and two associates.

In the second quarter of the calendar year 2024, the country commissioned 5 GW of solar capacity while in the first quarter (January-March) the new capacity that was added surged by as much as 9.9 GW, the report said. As of June 2024, the country's installed solar capacity stood at 87.2 GW and accounted for 19.5 per cent of the total energy mix, the report said.
After a week's closure due to flooding, all educational institutions in Tripura would re-open from Tuesday (August 27) except those schools which have been converted into relief camps, an official said on Monday. After the devastating floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall that began on August 19, the Tripura government announced the closure of all educational institutions including schools and universities for an indefinite period.
In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police have solved the sensational Khanna Shiv Mandir theft case in less than a week by busting an interstate theft gang targeting religious places with the arrest of its four members, said Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav here on Thursday. The operation was accomplished with the cooperation from Chandigarh Police, Uttarakhand Police and Uttar Pradesh Police.
Confirming the development, Chief Advisor to Mamata Banerjee, Alapan Bandopadhyay, read out contents of the letter before mediapersons, which said the Chief Minister has suggested the setting up of special fast-track courts for speedy trials in such cases.
