6-Year-Old Indian Boy In Mizoram Rushes Chicken To Hospital After Running It Over; Internet Is Impressed

Darpan News Desk IANS, 04 Apr, 2019 08:58 PM

A boy from Sairang, Mizoram, ran his neighbour's chicken over with his bicycle.

The little one ran to the nearest hospital with whatever money he had in his pocket, and asked the doctors for help.

A Facebook post was shared by a user, who narrated how a young Mizo boy had run his neighbour's chicken over while cycling. Sanga Says, the user, posted a picture of the boy at the hospital, with the chicken in one hand, and a few currency notes in the other.

He wrote: “As per reports: This young boy from Sairang, Mizoram, ran his neighbour's chicken over with his cycle. He took the chicken, ran to the nearby hospital and with all the money he had, asked for help. (I'm laughing and crying all at the same time).”

The picture has gone viral because of the innocent look on the boy's face, and how guilty he feels.

With close to 90k shares and over a lakh likes, the Internet cannot stop gushing over the boy and his redemptive act.

After the post went viral, the boy was identified as Derek C Lalchhanhima.

His father, Dhiraj Chhetri, revealed how his son, Derek, came home with the neighbour's chicken that he had run over, crying and begging his parents to take it to the hospital, without understanding that he had killed it.

His father asked him to go to the hospital by himself, and the boy did that with a Rs 10 note in his hand.

Later, the boy came back crying, saying the doctors didn’t help and only took a picture. The little one promised to go back to the hospital with more money.

His father finally decided to tell him about the death of the chick. His father said he is surprised that the boy went to the hospital on his own, adding: “He’s always been a rather unique kid.”
