IANS, 24 Dec, 2016 01:42 PM
A 6-year-old boy had queued up for a midday meal at a primary school in Telangana on Friday when he accidently fell into a vessel containing boiling sambar. The child died of burn injuries.

Police is probing the accident at the Eeduluru Government School in Kattangur mandal in Nalgonda district.

Officials said that a minor scuffle between the students accidently pushed Jayavardhan into the vessel and he suffered burn injuries. He was rushed to Nalgonda government hospital.

District collector Gaurav Uppal had visited the child in hospital and met the child's family.

Jayavardhan was later shifted to the Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad where he died.

Balala Hakkula Sangam, an NGO working in Hyderabad, is demanding that a case of murder due to negligence be registered against teachers and midday meal staff and a compensation of 25 lakh rupees should be given to the family.
