Chandigarh, Nov 9 (IANS) Six persons have died after consuming suspected spurious liquor at Mandebari and Panjeta Ka Majra villages of Yamunanagar district in Haryana, the police said.

Two have been admitted to hospitals.

After consuming liquor, they reportedly vomited. Five of them died after sometime. Three others were rushed to private hospitals, where one person died.

The family members of the deceased Suresh Kumar, Sonu, Surinder Pal, Swaran Singh and Mehar Chand reportedly cremated their bodies without getting the post-mortem done.

A fire broke out in Chandigarh PGI’s Nehru Hospital and 424 patients were evacuated, officials said on Tuesday, adding that the patients requiring ventilators were moved to safer areas and there was no causality. The fire incident occurred in the computer room of C-block of Nehru Hospital of the PGI around 11.45 p.m. on Monday, the hospital said in a statement.
