43-Year-Old Delhi Woman Charges African Man With Rape

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Nov, 2015 02:15 PM
A 43-year-old woman has accused an African man, whom she was not able to identify further, of raping her many times on the pretext of marriage and filming objectionable videos, police said on Sunday.

The woman, who hails from Jharkhand, filed a complaint at the Mehrauli police station in south Delhi on Saturday.

The woman, in her police complaint, said that she met the African man, about whose nationality she had no clue, through a social networking website around seven months ago.

"A case has been registered and a team formed to nab the suspect, who is currently on the run," said a police officer.

Police said the woman has been staying in Delhi for the past several years and works as a caretaker at a couple of houses in Mehrauli area.

According to the woman, she shifted to a rented flat along with the African man a few months after they became friends on the social networking site.

"The suspect recently moved to an unknown destination and severed all contact with the woman as she was pressurising him for marriage," said the police officer.

Police said the woman could not provide more details about the African man. "She also does not know his real name," the officer said.
