31-Yr-Old Tries to Rape 6-Yr-Old Daughter Of His Mohali Neighbour

IANS, 17 Aug, 2017 11:47 AM
A 31-year-old youth allegedly tried to rape a six-year-old daughter of his neighbour at their house in Sector 82 here on Monday night.

In his complaint, the victim’s father alleged that they were in the courtyard while the victim was watching television in a room when the accused, Gulfam, tried to rape her.

Fortunately, the victim’s mother heard her cries and went to see her in the room. She was shocked to see that their neighbour Gulfam was trying to rape her. She raised the alarm following which the accused tried to flee from the spot on his motorcycle, but was overpowered by the parents and some other persons.

Later, he was handed over to the police.

The police said Gulfam had been arrested.

A case under Sections 376 and 511 of the IPC and under the POCSO Act has been registered at the Sohana police station against him.

Later, he was produced before a local court, which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.
