180 Photos, 6 Languages: See The Golden Temple In An Incredible Book, Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib

    A coffee table book titled ‘Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib’ by eminent photographer, Ranjodh Singh, was released with much fanfare Wednesday.
     
    Among those present were Giani Jagtar Singh, head granthi, Golden Temple; Naresh Soni from Sri Ramsharnam, Shahi Imam Maulana Habib ur Rehmani from Jama Masjid, Ludhiana, and Rt Rev Younas Massey, the Diocese of Chandigarh, released the book along with Punjabi poet Padma Shri Dr Surjit Patar.
     
    The book contains as many as 180 photographs of the Golden Temple and its premises spanning seasons, festivals, celebrations and moods through the year, was released .
     
    Besides Hindi, English and Punjabi, the book also has texts in Dutch, French and Spanish.
     
     
    Released at an inter-faith gathering in Ludhiana by religious heads from Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Christian communities, the author and eminent photographer, Ranjodh Singh, said the idea behind the book is to project that “Golden Temple is a temple of humanity and for not Sikhs alone”.
     
    “The work on this book started three years ago. I have tried tocapture the Golden Temple in all possible shades, colours, seasons and festivities. Along with English, Hindi and Punjabi texts, there is a supplementary book which has translations in Spanish, French and Dutch. Lakhs of foreigners come to visit the Golden Temple but return without knowing its history and facts,” he said.
