Hathras (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 7 (IANS) At least 15 people, including four women and an equal number of children, were killed after a roadways bus collided with the van they were travelling in on National Highway 93 here, officials said.

Thirteen people have also been injured in the accident which took place on Friday and admitted to a government hospital.

Taking cognisance of the accident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed district officials to reach the spot and take care of the relief measures.

The Chief Minister has also asked the officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured.

"The bus hit the van while trying to overtake it on the Agra-Aligarh national highway," Superintendent of Police (SP) Nipun Agarwal said.

The accident occurred near Kanwarpur village, about 10 km from the district headquarters.

The passengers were on their way to Agra from Hathras.

The deceased have been identified as Irshad (25), Munne Khan (55), Muskan (16), Talli (28), Tabassum (28), Najma (25), Bhola (25), Khushbu (25), Jameel (50), Chote (25), Ayan (two), Sufiyan (one), Alfaz (six), Shoaib (five) and Ishrat (50).

The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to those seriously injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the deaths in the accident and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

President Droupadi Murmu condoled the loss of lives in the accident and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.

Five men, including a driver of the victim, were arrested for robbing Rs 75 lakh in Delhi's Shalimar Garden area at gunpoint, police said on Thursday. The accused were identified as Vicky Kumar, 33, Robin a.k.a Rasoo, Sudhanshu, 23, Mukesh a.k.a Bobby, 50, and Abhishek, 21.  According to police, on January 13, a police control room (PCR) call reporting a robbery of Rs 75 lakh was received at Shalimar Bagh police station.

Over 110 international and domestic flights were delayed while around 25 were cancelled in the last 10 hours as a thick layer of fog blanketed Delhi, as per airport sources. The weatherman said that the visibility at Palam dropped to 300 metres at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, which continued over the night and at 8:30 a.m Wednesday it was 600 metres.
