Cat owners smarter than dog lovers?

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 02 Jun, 2014 01:35 PM
Your pet can tell a lot about you and if a new study is to be believed, people with dogs at home are more energetic but feline lovers are more intelligent.

Cat owners scored higher on an intelligence test than dog owners, a new study showed.

“People might select a pet based on their own personality so that energetic people are attracted to energetic pets, like dogs,” said psychology professor Denise Guastello from Carroll University, Wisconsin in the US.

"Cat owners are more introverted, sensitive and open-minded than dog people," Guastello added.

On the other hand, dog lovers tend to be more energetic and outgoing than cat owners and follow rules more obediently.

“It makes sense that a dog person is going to be more lively, because they are going to want to be out there, outside, talking to people, bringing their dog,” Guastello said.

The study involved 600 students who revealed their personality traits and were asked whether they are cat or dog lovers.
