The American people have spoken and chosen Democrat Joe Biden as their 46th president. Biden, will address the nation later Saturday, said he was "honored and humbled" by the trust the American people have placed in him. After four years of a consistent political circus rampant with a lack of integrity in the White House and ridden with bullying Biden said he was running to restore the character of the nation and bring dignity back to the White House. 270 electoral college votes are needed to win the election and Biden won with a healthy lead of 294 votes while Trump's standing at the time of victory was at 214. Biden will be 78 at the end of the month and will become the oldest president when he is officially in office in January.
Jubliant celebrations are in full swing with supporters spilling onto the streets to celebrate the President-elect's victory. The election took place at an unprecedented time of a global health crisis.
