  • Andrew Wilkinson to no longer continue as leader of the BC's opposition party

BC Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson will no longer continue as the leader of the BC Liberals to make room for an interim leader to take his job.

Wilkinson resigned as leader of the BC Liberals two days after the party's utterly disappointing performance in decades on election night but said he would step down once a replacement is found. It's not clear whether he is resigning right away.

In a Facebook post on Saturday Wilkinson highlighted that its been an honor to serve the party but also that its now time to move on with new leadership.

The BCNDP saw an orange wave in a historic election win capturing 57 seats where as the Liberals only managed to secure 28 seats and the Greens landed with 2 seats.

Apart from being the leader of the Opposition Wilkinson also served as as minister of advanced education, minister of technology, and innovation and attorney general.
