Iqveer & Ranvir Dhoot

City of Residence: Vancouver

Q: How did you meet?

We first met in 2019 while hanging out with our friends in downtown Vancouver.

Q: What do you love the most about one another?

A: Iqveer: What I admire most about Ranvir is his genuine compassion and selfless nature. He always prioritizes others above himself. He is truly the best human in this world.

Ranvir: The first thing I noticed was Iqveer's smile. She always has a positive attitude and outlook on life.

Q: Could you share your proposal story?

In December 2022, we flew to New York for a Christmas trip. Ranvir was randomly selected for a secondary check during our layover at Toronto Pearson Airport. He was sweating as security went through his stuff, and I wondered why he was so stressed. The security officer laughed when they found the ring in his jacket pocket. Ranvir later proposed in front of the Christmas tree at the Lotte New York Hotel.

Q: Describe your wedding day and your favourite moment.

Our wedding day ran very smoothly. We organized everything a month before the wedding with a rundown and a list of what was needed. Our favourite moment of the wedding was right after the lavaan when we were finally stress-free and knew everything was done.

Q: Could you tell us about your reception?

A: Our reception very classy and elegant. Our wonderful décor team, Evergreen Events, created a beautiful ballroom theme with a black background, white arches, flowers and candles. The décor was absolutely gorgeous we were left speechless.

Q: How was your experience with the photography team? Would you recommend it to others?

A: The photography and videography team we had – Amaster Media, were very professional and efficient; they gave their 100% throughout the wedding week and knew what poses we should do to make us feel comfortable. Our families were in awe after seeing the excellent next-day edit they made to show a recap of our wedding week. Everyone even now, talks about the next day's edit.

Q: Can you describe your outfits?

A: Our engagement was in the backyard, and my outfit from Shyamal & Bhumika was very simple and elegant. The vibe for the wedding day was classy and traditional, and our outfits were both from Made in India. The look we wanted for the reception was glitz and glam. My outfit was from Payal Keyal, and Ranvir's tuxedo was from House of Mauka.

Q: Where did you go for your honeymoon?

A: We wanted a relaxing honeymoon to explore each city's richness. We went to Bali, Thailand, and Singapore for three weeks, visiting nine different cities.

Q: What are your goals as a couple?

A:  Our goal as a couple is to continue to build on our love and friendship.

Q: What are your favourite quotes?

A:  Our favourite quote is something we posted for our reception: "It's like, at that moment, the whole universe existed just to bring us together." - Serendipity. We resonate with this quote as we truly believe fate allowed us to find each other right before covid.

Q: What are the strengths of your marriage?

A: The strength of our marriage has been open communication.

Q: If you could give any advice to other married couples, what would it be?

A: Always put each other first, no matter the situation or circumstances.
