Wedding Story: Harman & Rosy

Monica Sethi Darpan, 28 May, 2024
  • Wedding Story: Harman & Rosy

Q: How did you meet?

We met at our workplace in September 2022. I used to work from home while Harman worked from the office a couple of days a week. But for the last couple of weeks in September, I was in the process of moving from my old place, so I had to come to the office to work. Harman and I started talking to each other and grew closer over time.

Q: What do you love the most about one another?

Harman: I love how caring and supporting Rosy is and how she makes a safe space for me to talk about whatever I have on my mind.

Rosy: Harman's kind and curious and has a great sense of humour.

Q: Could you share your proposal story?

We had gone to Victoria to celebrate my birthday. Our Airbnb was right on the beach, and on the night of my birthday, we were relaxing on beach chairs near the fire pit and looking at the ocean. Harman gave me a small jewelry box as my birthday present and asked me to open it. I opened it & inside there was just a piece of paper which said "Thank you for making my life the fullest & best ever! Love you unlimited." and then at the bottom of the paper it said "Flip me" so I turned the paper, and there it said, "Will you marry me?" I looked at Harman; he was holding a ring, and I said yes immediately. It was all such a pleasant surprise for me.

Q: Describe your wedding day and your favourite moment.

Our wedding day was full of hustle & bustle and nervous energy, so many of our family members & friends were all around us giving us advice on Anand Karaj. Our favourite moment was sitting together after our laavan in Gurudwara sahib.

We just sat there looking at each other for the first time as husband and wife, and all our nervousness just disappeared. We looked forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

Q: Could you tell us about your reception?

Our reception was everything we wanted; at the palace (Dhaliwal Banquet), the décor was so dreamy and complimented our dresses. To surprise us, quite a few of our family members had prepared dance performances. We loved celebrating our wedding with our family & friends.

Q: How was your experience with the photography team? Would you recommend it to others?

Our experience with them was great, as they are pretty awesome. They were so accommodating and always made sure that we were comfortable and happy with the whole process. We were so ecstatic when we looked at the results. We would highly recommend A Master Media to others.

Q: Can you describe your outfits?

I wore a rust-orange lehenga, and Harman wore an off-white sherwani with golden palla and turban matching the colour of my lehnga for the wedding.

For the reception, I wore a cream-beige evening gown, and Harman wore an elegant dark brown suit, turban, and light brown tie.

Q: Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We have not yet gone on our honeymoon, but we plan to visit Japan or Europe later this year.

Q: What are your goals as a couple?

We want to continue working hard, achieving our dreams, and growing individually and together. We also want to be there for each other and talk to each other about anything on our minds.

Q: What are your favourite quotes?

Harman likes this quote by Plato: "Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow." I like this quote by Tina Turner: "I believe that if you'll just stand up and go, life will open up for you."

Q: If you could give any advice to other married couples, what would it be?

Don't be afraid to be vulnerable. Never underestimate the power of communication. We can resolve so many things just by being open and honest with each other.
