CALL ME BAE
Release Date: September 6, 2024 (Amazon Prime)
Directed By:  Colin D'Cunha
Starring: Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood

The upcoming series Call Me Bae channels the charm of Alexis Rose from Schitt’s Creek, the quirkiness of Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls, and the sass of Aisha Kapoor from Aisha—all rolled together in its lead—Bella Chowdhury, aka Bae. Spinning the classic rags-to-riches story on its head, the show follows the life of Bae, played by our very own desi Alexis Rose–Ananya Panday. Talking about the show, producer Karan Johar said in a statement, “While there have been many stories that follow the rags-to-riches trope, Call Me Bae offers a fresh twist by turning the genre on its head. It centers around a young woman from a privileged background, where extravagance was a birthright, who, due to unforeseen circumstances, must now navigate life on her own and hustle and reinvent herself in the bustling city of Mumbai. This series presents a modern coming-of-age story with a playful, comedic edge that will captivate audiences across India and globally.” So, be ready for a whirlwind of laughter, tears, and a whole lot of Bae!
