  • Meet Multi-Talented Visionary: Kanika Sasan

Meet Kanika Sasan, a true multi-talent, seamlessly combining her love for acting, fashion, and entrepreneurship. From a young age, she has been drawn to the performing arts, a path she found to be deeply connected with her inner self. Her artistic endeavours reflect a deep passion and a creative spirit that guided her through a multifaceted career.

Fashion, for Sasan, is sheerly a form of art. With an education in image consulting, she's an advocate for the empowering potential of fashion, especially for women. Her boutique, Adore by Kanika, is a haven for the Indian diaspora in North America, featuring hand-picked selections from top Indian designers.

From a tender age, Sasan has also been captivated by the allure of performing arts. Whether on stage, acting, dancing, or serving as an emcee, she found solace in expressing herself and being creative. Her inclination for the performing arts profoundly evolved, driving her to explore acting as a medium of self-expression.

Her acting career took an intriguing turn when she was recently cast as the antagonist, "Kim," in the Canadian Punjabi film Sardara and Sons. This character's complexity, embracing negativity and empowerment, drew Sasan. On the film set, she had the unique privilege of learning from seasoned actors like Yograj Singh and Pankaj Batra. Their creative synergy inspired her to bring out her best.

Though challenges have been a constant companion on her journey, including the patience required to navigate the waiting game in the entertainment industry, the driven go-getter never gave up. "It has taken me ten years of actively working to have a feature film at hand — years and years of non-stop auditioning, training, and working on the craft.", shares Sasan.

Balancing her multiple passions and callings is intuitive for Sasan. She also encourages her children to explore their creative sides and remain open to the universe's guidance while remaining dedicated and disciplined. Sasan's commitment extends to both her acting career and her business ventures. She aspires to work with filmmakers who share her passion for authentic storytelling while striving to add social value as a business owner.

Undoubtedly, Sasan's move to Canada at the age of 20 didn't distance her from her Indian roots; it became an opportunity to showcase her culture with pride and humility, whether through festivals, fashion, or cinema. In her remarkable journey, Sasan exemplifies the power of pursuing one's passions, embracing creativity, and staying true to one's dreams. Her commitment to the worlds of art, fashion, and cinema truly serves as an inspiration.

The power-woman's advice to young aspirants is simple yet profound: "Believe in your inner desires and dreams. Don't let the world distract you from what you truly want. Launch in that direction with intention and hard work, and the universe will support you."
