Veggie Pops

BY CHEF SANJAY THUMMA Darpan, 27 Jan, 2020

Veggie pops are an excellent snack. They are a mix of vegetables moulded into dumplings, coated with bread crumbs, and deep-fried until crisp.

    Ingredients
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 tbsp chopped beans
    • ½ cup bread crumbs
    • 2 tbsp chopped carrot
    • 2 tbsp corn
    • ½ tsp curry powder
    • 2 tbsp chopped green peas
    • 1 tsp mixed herbs
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • ½ tsp pepper powder
    • Salt to taste
    • ½ cup semolina
    • ½ cup chopped spinach
    • 1 cup water

    Preparation
    • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped beans, carrot, green peas, and corn, and sauté it. Then, add salt, mixed herbs, pepper powder, spinach, hot water, and semolina and mix it all together.
    • Put the lid on and cook all the ingredients on a slow flame for four to five minutes. Sprinkle some curry powder and cook it for another two minutes and then switch off the flame.
    • Add the all-purpose flour to the cooked mixture, mix it well and make small round dumplings.
    • Keep some all-purpose flour aside and coat the dumplings with the flour and put the dumplings in hot boiling water. Then coat the dumplings with bread crumbs and fry in hot oil. Serve this hot with your favourite sauce.
