Embark on a cinematic journey this year, as the silver screen awaits a stellar lineup of blockbusters movie. From the high-octane action of Hrithik Roshan's Fighter to the heartwarming tale of Aamir Khan's Sitare Zameen Par, and the eagerly anticipated sequel Pushpa 2, the movie calendar is brimming with cinematic treasures. Here’s the list of every movie you need to watch this year.

FIGHTER

Release date: January 2, 2024
Directed by: Siddharth Anand
Starring: Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi

2024 couldn’t have got a better kickstart than Fighter. Featuring the charismatic Hrithik Roshan alongside the fiercely talented Deepika Padukone, the film has been a subject of immense anticipation since its announcement. While the makers have kept a tight lid on the plot, the teaser of Fighter tantalizes with promises of high-octane aerial drama and an electrifying chemistry between its leading stars. Seriously, why has it taken this long for anyone to cast these two powerhouses of talents together. Director Siddharth Anand, shared, “Fighter is a one of its kind film. I am so happy that after Pathaan, my next is Fighter. We managed to set a certain benchmark with Pathaan in the action front and Fighter is something just so different.” Well, we can’t wait to watch this aerial action drama in cinemas.   

TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA

Starring: Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia

Setting the tone for the Valentine’s month this year is ‘an impossible love story’ — Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, featuring Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. Despite the veil of secrecy shrouding the storyline, reports have surfaced claiming the film to be a delightful blend of science fiction and romance. Rumours suggest that Kriti Sanon will be seen playing a robot, who falls in love with Shahid Kapoor’s character in the film. Shahid himself had revealed in an interview that, “It is like a rom-com but it's a rom-com with a twist highly unexpected.” Directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film also stars Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia. Interesting casting, and an equally interesting storyline, now this one promises an exciting cinematic experience.  

YODHA

Starring: Siddarth Malhotra, Disha Patani, Raashi Khanna

Hello action fans! Brace yourself for another dose of action as Yodha follows hot on the heels of Fighter to make your jaws drop. Headlined by the charming Siddharth Malhotra, the film marks the inception of an action franchise under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production banner. Reflecting on the film, Siddharth previously expressed, “As an artist, you would want to work on scripts that bring out the best in you. This truly unveiled a newer version of me, which I am very thankful for. The amount of love I have received from audiences and fans is magical. I can't wait to showcase what Yodha has for them.” The film, directed by the talented duo Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, also stars Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna in key roles. Loaded with action and drama, this one can’t be missed.

Bringing together the dynamic trio of Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon for the first time, this movie promises a rollercoaster of laughs and mishaps against the chaotic backdrop of the struggling airline industry. Picture three hustling women determined to conquer life, only to find themselves in some hilariously unexpected situations, caught up in a web of wild lies. In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor spilled the beans, saying, “It’s like stepping into this cool zone of comedy, heist, and classic commercial masala, all with three kickass women leading the charge.” Without a doubt, this fresh comedy needs to be added to the must-watch list.

BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN

Starring: Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar

2024 is undoubtedly under the spell of the action genre, and the excitement reaches new heights as two of Bollywood's most dynamic action heroes, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, join forces for the adrenaline-pumping thriller, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Under the directorial prowess of Ali Abbas Zafar, this film promises an electrifying spectacle with the duo unleashing intense action sequences like never before. Adding to the thrill, Prithviraj Sukuraman steps into the role of the formidable antagonist. While the film's details are shrouded in mystery, producer Deepshikha Deshmukh teased in an interview, “We are so excited for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, it’s a massive action entertainer, it’s a complete new universe we are pushing through.” Now action fans wouldn’t want to miss this one.

SRI

Release date: May 24, 2024

Starring: Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Jyotika, Sharad Kelkar, Ravi Singh

This much-awaited biopic was slated to release last year, however, due to unavoidable circumstances got pushed to 2024. Helmed by director Tushar Hiranandani, SRI delves into the remarkable life of industrialist Srikanth Bholla, who didn’t let his visual impairment come in the way of his vision and founded Bollant Industries. Rajkummar Rao, who plays the titular role, said, “It’s indeed a privilege to play such an inspiring persona who has been through a lot of hardships and despite that has risen like a phoenix!” With such an inspiring story supported by Rao’s exceptional acting chops, SRI promises to be a cinematic experience that can’t be missed.

CHANDU CHAMPION

Release date: June 14, 2024
Directed by: Kabir Khan
Starring: Kartik Aaryan

Another story inspired by a real-life hero which is all set to shine on screen this year is Chandu Champion. Helmed by the acclaimed director Kabir Khan and featuring the versatile Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, this cinematic masterpiece is a tribute to Murlikant Petkar — India’s first Paralympic gold medallist and a legend in freestyle swimming. Expressing his enthusiasm, Kabir Khan wrote on his social media, “I’m excited to announce my next project starring Kartik Aaryan in a never-before-seen avatar. I will be directing this and producing it along with my dear friend Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is based on a fascinating true story with a larger-than-life canvas.” Such charming true stories deserve a dekho on first day first show. What say?
