Being unapologetically present and visible is a start. I have always been an advocate for social justice and I will remain that.

The strict safety plans in place, which include enhanced cleaning protocols, frequent hand hygiene, and requiring students and staff to stay home when ill, are designed to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 as well as colds and flu.

Many British Columbians have become severely ill and many others have lost their loved ones to COVID-19. This is a tragedy for all of us, and my colleagues and I feel this loss.

B.C has been extremely prepared from the start, before we even had a case, and we’re not letting up now. 

Surrey itself is a unique city: it is growing rapidly, covers a large geographic area, has a large youth population, and has a rich diversity.
