“When you first walk into BC Back, you immediately sense that you have come to the right place,” asserts Ajeet Bains, a registered physiotherapist at BC Back Clinic, talking about the healthcare organization that he has been a part of since 2011.
Surrey-based BC Back Clinic opened in 2010 under the ownership of a local family who really wanted to offer more options to the public when it came to healthcare. The clinic incorporates practitioners from all
across the wellness spectrum to provide the most comprehensive healthcare treatment. Services provided at BC Back include Chiropractic Care, Physiotherapy, Active Rehab, VAX-D Spinal Decompression, Cold Laser Therapy, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy and Custom Foot Orthotics.
“BC Back’s main goal is to offer patients a team approach to their healthcare and treatment plan. By offering more variety of services, we’re able to help more people, as everyone has different needs and different goals. It’s nice that
when you need to see multiple providers, they are all under the same roof and sharing one file,” says Bains, adding that the organization has a great team of providers who work well together to get the patients to where they need to be.
The ambience at BC Back clinic is always welcoming. Bains explains, “Aesthetically, the clinic has a spa-like atmosphere with a waterfall, fireplace, and is really impressive. On top of that, there’s always a positive energy that we are all
very committed to. When patients walk in, they feel welcome and comfortable, which allows their healing experience to be enhanced.”
Being an organization dedicated to providing the most comprehensive healthcare treatment, there are quite a few factors that separate BC Back Clinic from other clinics in British Columbia – but the two that stand out the most are their unique line-up of equipment, and the dedicated and friendly service of their team. “No other clinics in BC have this equipment to offer patients, and all of it is reviewed and clinically proven to show positive results. BC Back is the only clinic in the province to offer the VAX-D spinal decompression system – which is also the most advanced treatment programme offered at the clinic. Talking about some of the features of this equipment, Bains says, “Our VAX-D spinal decompression table is the ultimate in spinal decompression. This program can correct disc injuries without surgery or other invasive procedures, which is such a great option for people who don’t want to go that route. It can really change the quality of life for people, as disc injuries create very intensive pain levels. The program encompasses the VAX-D therapy, as well as all of the rehab equipment to strengthen the patient’s spine once it is repaired. This gives the patient a whole new level of strength and mobility that you lose with that type of injury.”
Other advanced equipment include MED-X machines – important in spinal rehab and core strengthening; the Spineforce machine which targets and strengthens the intraspinal stabilizer muscles of the back that support the spine; and Tech Trainer which can be used for hundreds of different exercises, making it very versatile for our patients. It’s also very unique in that it’s pneumatic, which makes it much more effective for training muscle fatigue resistance. “Patients love the Spineforce machine because it’s like a large motorized wobble board and they get a score each time, so it almost feels like a game instead of an exercise,” adds Bains.
Catering to the needs and comfort of each person who visits the clinic, BC Back also provides customized treatment packages after evaluating many factors unique to each patient’s lifestyle. “That is our whole goal. To have the ability to customize a patient’s treatment plan makes all the difference in getting results. Each treatment plan may vary in length, treatment type, level of intensity, etc, in order to be tailored to their needs, as well as their goals. Some patients just want to get out of the pain, and others come to us because they want more than that: they want a full program to fully correct their condition and take them to the next level of health and wellness. We can accommodate each patient’s goals and discuss different options with them,” explains Bains.
Many of the patients at BC Back are MVA recoveries and ICBC cases. ICBC supports the therapies offered at BC Back, and their treatment plans work really well for car accident victims.
Ask him what encourages people to keep coming back to the clinic, and Bains answers, “Patients come back to us because they trust us, ultimately. They appreciate our equipment and the team of providers that they work with here. We get a lot of personal referral from current patients to their family and friends, so that speaks volumes. We also run our appointments on-time which is much appreciated by our clientele.”
