Top 6 X-MAS Light Festivals You Can't Miss

    Nothing lights up the holiday season than a good old-fashioned Christmas light display.

     
     
    The holiday season is almost here and there’s nothing more magical than seeing Vancouver aglow with lights. If you’re ready for some festive, holiday cheer, grab your family, your friends, and head out to one (or more) of these dazzling light displays. 
     
     

    Vandusen Festival of Lights 

    This annual festival of lights in Vandusen Botanical Garden is a long-standing Vancouver holiday classic. Running from December 1, 2018, to January 6, 2019, get ready to be mesmerized by the thousands of dancing lights, and trails full of illumination. Besides the light displays, you can also get your picture with Santa and take a ride on the carousel. Tickets can be purchased online and each includes a free carousel ride.
     
     
     

    Glow Christmas  

    If you’re in the mood for something new, be sure to check out Glow Christmas at the Milner Village Garden Centre in Langley. Running from November 22, 2018, to January 19, 2019, this is the largest indoor Christmas festival display around. Explore the light gardens, see the interactive hanging light displays and wander around the Christmas market where you can do some Christmas shopping or just enjoy delicious treats from the local food trucks.     Canyon Lights

    If you’d like to add some adventure to the mix, Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge is the way to go.  Their light festival runs from November 22, 2018, to January 27, 2019, and is the place to see 250-year-old Douglas fir trees decked out with hundreds of thousands of festive lights. The entire park is transformed into a visual treat as the Suspension bridge, Treetops adventure, Cliffwalk as well as the rainforest are all lit up.     Lights at Lafarge  

    Ready for a walk to remember? A 1.2 km trail that winds across Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam is lit up with thousands of sparkling holiday lights. This beautiful display of winter wonder is also free of charge! The much-beloved annual light display launches on November 24.  Visitors can take in the dazzling lights from dusk until 11 pm nightly.
     
     
     

    Christmas at Hycroft

    Take a step back in time with this Christmas delight! Christmas at Hycroft lets you walk through three levels of a stately Edwardian mansion, all decked out in seasonal splendor and of course, lights. Running from November 15 to 18, 2018, this is a 40-year old Vancouver tradition and is definitely worth a visit.  There is also lots of live entertainment, surprise visits from Santa and unique boutiques and traditional treats.     Heritage Christmas

    Burnaby Village Museum is a delight during Christmas as the entire historical village is decked out with thousands of holiday lights. Stroll through the dazzling streets to see vintage Christmas displays. There’s a lot of live entertainment as well as activities for children from crafts to baking to visiting Santa. Running between November 24 - December 14, 2018, and December 15 - January 4, 2019, this gorgeous display has free gate admission.
