Parents, if you and the kids are planning to spend the spring break in Vancouver, consider yourself lucky! From educational to entertaining to downright unforgettable, Vancouver offers a horde of activities to choose from. Here are five fun activities to get the spring holiday started!

MONKIDO ADVENTURE COURSE  

The adventurous, outdoorsy type will love this aerial obstacle course. Located in Maple Ridge, BC, Monkido Adventure course involves a lot of climbing, zip lining and swinging! The best part is that they offer three different levels of experience: Classic, Extreme and one for kids aged 5-12. Book your experience at wildplay.com

GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY AT MAPLEWOOD FARM   

If your child can’t get enough of animals, a day at Maplewood Farm is a must – where they have over 200 friendly farm animals and birds. Located in North Vancouver, this working farm offers a truly rural experience. Children can visit farm animals, feed the chickens, ducks and rabbits and go for rides. Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it! The farm is open on Tuesdays through Sundays, between 10 am and 4 pm.

BEATYBIODIVERSITY MUSEUM

For an educational (yet fun) day, pay a visit to the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver. Located at the University of British Columbia, this natural history museum has a number of truly unforgettable exhibits that are sure to thrill any science or biology fans. Besides their famous giant blue whale skeleton, this museum also has thousands of animal and plant fossils, shells and other ancient wonders. The museum is open on Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm and tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children or youth. Visit beatymuseum.ubc.ca for more information.

ADVENTURE CAMP AT GROUSE MOUNTAIN     

Day camps make for a memorable and enriching spring break. The Grouse Mountain Spring Break Adventure Camps offer a fun and educational experience in a winter wonderland. With activities like snowshoeing, ice-skating, outdoor survival skills, and wildlife biology, there’ll never be a dull moment. GET CREATIVE AT THE VANCOUVER ART GALLERY   

Get those creative juices flowing. Head out to the Vancouver Art Gallery from March 14 to 18 for a range of family-friendly artsy activities. Every day between 12 noon to 4 pm, children and their families can enjoy a variety of activities from sketching, art hunts, games and much more. These activities are free with gallery admission and free for children 12 and under.
