By Tarana Rana, 18 Sep, 2019

There’s so much to experience in Vancouver in fall. We’ve picked five fun events you shouldn’t miss.

Summer may be on its way out but there’s still a lot to do in Vancouver in fall. Besides enjoying the beautiful autumnal colours and the host of Halloween events, be sure to check out some of these events and activities across the Lower Mainland.

    The Sky’s No Limit Event

On October 5-6, visit Abbotsford International Airport for an aerospace and aviation industry event. Aiming to improve gender diversity in high tech STEM fields, activities include meeting a NASA astronaut and going up in a small aircraft (for female first-time fliers). Admission is free and all are welcome.

    Vancouver International Film Festival

Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is back in town! Kicking off on September 26, this annual festival is a great way to check out some thought-provoking films from all across the globe. With more than 300 films from over 70 countries presented, the hardest part is selecting what to see! Check out the program details at viff.org

    Culture Days

A national celebration of arts and culture, this annual event lets people participate in cultural events across the country. Taking place this year from September 27 to 29, enjoy free public events across BC. You can sing along in choirs at the Vancouver opera, visit art exhibitions and art walking tours, watch dance performances, and more. Visit culturedays.ca for a full list of local events.

    Craft Beer Week

Beer lovers rejoice! Vancouver’s North Shore Craft Beer Week is running from October 4 until October 11. This weeklong ode to beer features drink specials, live music, brewery tours at various venues throughout North Vancouver, including breweries such as Beere Brewing, Bridge Brewing, Deep Cove, and Hearthstone Brewery.

    Flyover Iceland

If you enjoyed Vancouver’s Flyover Canada, be sure to check out their newly released experience – a virtual flight over Iceland. Running till October 20th, experience the majesty of Iceland with its sweeping glaciers and stunning fjords. This new flight experience takes place twice per hour. Guests also have the option to see FlyOver Canada and the new Iceland flight ride on a dual ticket to save 15%.
