Sweet Surprises At Tahiti Islands

What makes the islands of Tahiti so unique and romantic?

With air smelling of sweet Tahitian vanilla and breathtaking sunsets bursting with colour, the islands of Tahiti are undeniably one of the most romantic places in the world.

In addition to the destination’s natural beauty, tranquility, and privacy, the islands of Tahiti offer an array of diverse experiences combined with rich Tahitian culture. Immersed in a world of majestic mountain peaks, turquoise waters and white-sand beaches, visitors to the islands create memories through authentic experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. For centuries, the Tahitian people have referred to this as “Mana.” Mana is a life force and spirit that surrounds and connects all living things.

The islands of Tahiti are much closer than many think, just an eight-hour non-stop flight from Los Angeles with daily departures on Air Tahiti Nui. Receiving as many tourists in an entire year as Hawaii gets in about 12 days, and only a few more hours in the air, makes the islands of Tahiti the perfect honeymoon getaway.

There are a total of 118 islands and atolls spread out in five archipelagoes that comprise this South Pacific paradise. The three archipelagos most sought by visitors are the Society Islands, comprised of Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea and Taha’a; The Tuamotu Atolls or “Tahiti’s Strand of Pearls,” include the atolls of Rangiroa, Manihi, Tikehau, and Fakarava; and the Marquesas, or “The Mysterious Islands.”

So what makes the islands of Tahiti so unique and romantic?

The Seclusion

Intimate resorts, small peaceful villages, and miles of quiet pristine beaches explain why Tahiti is ranked #1 in the world for “alone time.”

Over-water Bungalows

The world’s most perfect hotel room for couples! Traditional thatched-roof bungalows built with all the amenities of a first-class hotel room are perched above the turquoise lagoon waters.

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of their invention in the islands of Tahiti. In many of the rooms, tropical fish swim below as visitors can look through the glass floor or coffee table. Bungalows feature a private balcony with stairs to the warm water below creating the perfect place to relax in the sun, jump into the warm water, or enjoy the sunset views. Surrounded only by water and sky, you can enjoy both breakfast (often delivered by canoe) and the sunset (seemingly delivered by the heavens).

The People

Embrace and share in the warmth and welcome of your Tahitian hosts whose love for their islands is seen through music, dance, and flowers.

Polynesian Spas

Experience true relaxation and rejuvenation at one of the many luxurious Polynesian spas while nurtured by the tropical ambience. Enjoy spa treatments for two at one of the many resort and cruise ship spas. Surrounded by a backdrop of natural beauty and floral fragrances, there is no better setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Enjoy herbal rain showers, body wraps in banana tree leaves, or fresh-flower baths.

Maui is named the Valley Isle because of the valley that lies between the two volcanoes and the actual name Maui comes from the demigod that brought the Hawaiian Islands up from the bottom of the ocean.
