Isle Of Capri, Italy

Nothing spells ROMANCE better than the picturesque Isle of Capri in Southern Italy. Steep cliffs plunging into the majestic blue sea, rugged landscape, rustic villas, drop-dead gorgeous scenery — everything about this idyllic island is picture-perfect. While Capri is quite cold and windy during the month of February, it is also ideal for couples wanting to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Capri on foot and in solitude. Enjoy mouth-watering fresh seafood at one of the sophisticated restaurants, sundowners at some quaint cafés, romantic sunset by the beach and simply relax those WFH shoulders with the company of your beloved. Sounds like a perfect V-Day vacay, right!

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: While Italy has opened its door to travellers, the Italian government has passed a decree for the pandemic until March 31, 2022.  As per this law, it is mandatory for travellers from countries that are permitted entry to Italy to present the COVID-19 Certificate, which proves whether the travellers have been vaccinated, recovered, or have a negative COVID-19 test result. Furthermore, a super green pass is needed to access public venues such as restaurants and bars, cinemas, gyms, nightclubs and stadiums.

The Maldives

Bollywood’s most fav destination during this pandemic, Maldives is home to some of the best white sand beaches in the world and is undeniably the ultimate romantic destination if you crave the sun, sand and the sea. With dozens of resorts with private water villas and open decks, on a private island accessible by waterplanes — Maldives can transport you into a magical world, where there is no one except the cyan-blue waters, colourful reefs, lovely weather and the company of your loved one. What’s more, Maldives is considered to be the safest travel destination in this time of the pandemic.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: Maldives is open to tourists, as long as they have completed the prescribed doses of the COVID 19 vaccine approved by WHO and show negative swab test results.

Tromsø, Norway

A winter holiday under the spectacular Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights can be just as alluring and romantic as a tropical vacation. Full of mysticism and romanticism, a Valentine’s Day trip to catch the Northern Lights is sure to leave you and your dear one completely mesmerized and make the V-day celebrations memorable. Believed by the Vikings to be manifestations of their Gods, the Northern Lights are one of the most remarkable natural wonders of the world and witnessing them with you love by your side is simply going to be magical.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: While Norway is open to fully vaccinated travellers from all over the world, it is mandatory to have a digital, valid COVID certificate (by EU/UK/Schengen standards). With a valid certificate, you don't have to quarantine, but you will have to take a test on arrival or within 24 hours after the arrival. All visitors must register online prior to entry.

The Iguazu Falls, Argentina & Brazil

Love is literally in the air at these cascading semi-circular waterfalls which lie on the border between Argentina and Brazil. Heralded as one of the most dramatic and magnificent waterfalls in the world, witnessing the Iguazu Falls with your special one is to not only see nature at its finest but also to create wonderful memories. Stand holding hands with your beloved and enjoy the glory of more than 270 falls surrounded by spectacular subtropical rainforest — we promise it is surely going to be an experience of a lifetime.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: Argentina has reopened for fully vaccinated tourists, as long as they provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of boarding the flight for Argentina.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Often overshadowed by European canal destinations such as Venice and Amsterdam, Copenhagen has a charm of its own and offers everything a couple needs for the ultimate romantic getaway. Explore the idyllic canals with your better half or visit the stunning Rosenborg Castle and get transported to another era or enjoy quiet strolls around the flower-laden path — this picturesque capital is perfect to relax and unwind with your beloved. Culture enthusiast couples visiting Copenhagen in February can also enjoy the Frost Festival, which runs for more than 20 days and there are music concerts and cultural events taking place in different places all over the city.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: Fully vaccinated tourists and those previously infected with the COVID-19 virus are allowed to enter Denmark without quarantine or test upon arrival. Also, all EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate holders can enter the country without being subject to testing and quarantine requirements.

The Douro Valley, Portugal

If you wish to indulge in a wine country romance but want to give the popular go-to spots like Napa Valley and Bordeaux a miss, then you need to head straight to the enchanting Douro Valley in Portugal. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, the breathtakingly beautiful Douro Valley with its postcard-pretty winding roads and quaint villages is a perfect setting for romance. Spend days exploring vineyards and wine tasting with your loved ones or meandering along the river on a boat or just enjoy the soothing, beautiful Portuguese background. This Portugal Valentine’s Day holiday is sure to leave you with memories that will last forever.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: All tourists travelling to Portugal need to fill a Passenger Locator Card and even though you are fully vaccinated, you will need to take an RT-PCR Test 72 hours before boarding the flight to Portugal, or a Rapid Antigen Test 48 hours before boarding the flight to Portugal.

Paris, France

Paris is synonymous with romance, and none can go without mentioning this city of love when speaking about a dreamy Valentine’s Day vacation. Love literally permeates through each and every corner of this graceful city and the opportunities for romance are endless. Being home to several Michelin starred restaurants, couples can indulge in some fancy gourmet meals, drink champagne on a romantic cruise on the river Seine, laze in one of the many manicured gardens of the city, and of course ascend to the top of the Eiffel Tower and soak in the mesmeric visuals of the city holding your beloved’s hand. A trip to Paris on V-Day is indeed going to be a beautiful experience.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines: All travellers, regardless of their vaccination status, need to provide a negative result of a PCR or antigen test taken less than 24 hours prior to boarding the flight for Paris. A registration before departure on the digital platform éOS-COVID is also a must.

So, this Valentine’s Day travel to one of these romantic destinations and celebrate beauty, serenity and love.
