Is your smartphone tracking you?

Darpan News Desk IANS, 19 Aug, 2014 07:57 AM
  • Is your smartphone tracking you?
Is your smartphone tracking and recording all your moves as you spend a secret romantic weekend with your girlfriend? Beware.

Those who own an Android smartphone or signed up to Google Now, the detailed tracking data is instantly beamed to their Google account where it can be stored for months, Express.co.uk reported.

The mapping device will give details of your recent trips with incredible accuracy.

These movements can now be viewed on a fully interactive location history map.

Once logged into a Google account, users simply click on a day, week or month and the map lights up with red dots and lines showing exactly where they have been.

According to Google, the service is not compulsory and there are clear instructions on how to switch the mobile tracking off.

The search engine also allows users easy access to edit and delete the history.
