Prada opens in Vancouver

Darpan News Desk, 01 Mar, 2016 04:00 PM
  • Prada opens in Vancouver

Prada opens its first store in Vancouver on March 11, on Alberni Street, in the heart of the city’s most prestigious shopping district, strengthening its presence in the Canadian market.

The space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of approximately 760 square metres spread over two floors and houses the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and footwear collections.

The signature black-and-white marble chequered flooring – a legacy of Prada’s identity worldwide – the bright colours of the steel and crystal display counters and “Clover Leaf” sofas, designed by Verner Panton and reproduced exclusively for Prada, create an elegant atmosphere.

The Prada "Made to Measure" service combines sartorial tradition with contemporary style, offering clients the possibility to create "made to measure" suits, coats, jackets, shirts and trousers.

This service is available in 50 stores worldwide, presenting the client with more than 300 fabric options for suits and jackets, 30 for coats and around 230 for shirts.

The Prada made-to-measure service features an assortment of seasonal fabrics for both suits and shirts: from the classic Kid Mohair and textured wools to exquisite Vicuña, Guanaco and Guanashina, as well as a range of wools up to Super 210S. The special, silky-to-touch, gossamer cottons complete the selection of shirt fabrics while the archive prints, the showpiece of the Made-to-Measure service, are exclusively from the Prada world.

VIP Room

VIP rooms are dedicated areas where the Prada Made-to-Measure service is provided. Here, clients will enjoy a private, intimate atmosphere as they go through each step of the process, from selecting the model and fabric to having their measurements taken.

Each store participating in the Made-to-Measure service will have a specially-trained member of staff, expert in taking measurements and everything that follows: selection of the fabric, the best fit for the client and the choice of customized details.

Through its Made-to-Measure service, Prada manages to create garments that have everything you would expect from a traditional tailor, offering clients the chance to create the perfect suit to fit their personal taste.
