Vaisakhi, the Sikh festival, is usually celebrated on April 13 or 14 every year. Being an auspicious festival, people celebrate it with full pomp and show, adorning beautiful, vibrant attires.

Punjabi men are full of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to dressing up in traditional attire. Wearing bright coloured clothes in a way represents this lively attitude. Their attire comprises of a turban, torla (fan-like adornment on the turban), kurta (long loose shirt), dhoti/chadar (loose loincloth), chughi (waistcoat without buttons), and ornaments like kaintha (necklace) and earrings.

Punjabi women are filled with exuberance when it comes to getting dressed up traditionally. The colours of the dress add charm to their feminine elegance. It comprises of dupatta (a big scarf), phulkari (embroidered head scarf), kameez (shirt), salwar (loose baggy pants), tikka (jewellery piece worn on the forehead), jhumka (long earrings), saggi (worn on the head), paranda (braid tassel), bangles, haar (necklace), baazu band (worn around the upper arm), and pazaib (anklets).
