Club Monaco held its first New York Fashion Week presentation on September 9 at New York’s Grand Central Terminal. There, the international lifestyle brand unveiled 35 exclusive men’s and women’s fall looks titled, “The New York Fashion Week Fall Collection.” The capsule collection will be available in select Club Monaco New York stores as well as the Toronto flagship and online at ClubMonaco.com.
“Based on the evolution of Club Monaco and our New York heritage, the timing felt right for us to show at New York Fashion Week,” said chief executive officer John Mehas. “We chose Grand Central Terminal as it remains one of the most iconic locations in the city and provides the perfect backdrop for our New York Fashion Week Fall collection.”
About The Women’s Fall Collection:
The Club Monaco women’s collection flirts with feminine elements like ruffles, covered buttons and puff sleeves borrowed from a Victorian era. Bold romantic floras are juxtaposed with military inspired pieces like clean top coats and elongated trousers. Novel textures bring the collection to life with items that are meant to be layered, mixed and matched. Compact wools in outerwear are softened with an unexpected raw edge, and velvet makes an appearance in everything from pencil skirts to ankle boots. A reinvented corduroy with a micro-wale moonlights as a velveteen fabric, and furniture trim like tassels, ribbon, and pom-poms highlight textured embellishment in a romantic way.
About The Men’s Fall Collection:
Club Monaco’s New York Fashion Week presentation featured the first collection by menswear designer, Matthew Millward. “I’m thrilled to join the talented design team at Club Monaco, and to use New York Fashion week as a forum to present our Fall Collection and the evolved direction of Club Monaco men’s.” said Millward.
The men’s Fall Collection reflects a renewed sense of elevated classics, focusing on rich color, textural fabrications and a military sensibility. Finely tailored outerwear is key, with focused attention paid towards collars and lapels, offering subtle updates to the cut and shape and adding an element of drama and character. Sweaters are knitted using sumptuous cashmere and rustic merino yarns, sourced from bestin-class mills. The category’s focus is on medium gauge rollnecks and turtlenecks that speak to comfort and warmth and are designed to be layered beneath winter coats and tailored jackets. Trousers take on new shape with added volume and pleats for a more fashion-oriented silhouette. In all, there is a rich, warm feeling to the entire collection.
