  • Celebrate ‘Being You’ With Sahil Kochhar’s Parindey

Celebrating the young, the carefree and the ones who follow their heart, Sahil Kochhar’s Parindey is a fashion presentation that urges you to break free and takes its inspiration from the souls of modern grooms and brides.

Rooted in traditions yet contemporary in approach, couturier Sahil Kochhar’s eponymous label is known for reinventing traditional embroideries and blending them with modern silhouettes to create enthralling bridal edits with a twist.

The label’s latest winter wedding collection — Parindey — with a fresh appeal and a dash of old-world charm, is no different. Celebrating the young, the carefree and the ones who follow their heart, Parindey is a fashion presentation that urges you to break free and takes its inspiration from the souls of modern grooms and brides. Light on weight and high on fashion quotient, this wedding edit is an ode to millennial brides and bridesmaids.

Commenting about the collection, designer Sahil Kocchar says, “This collection aims at giving you wings. Parindey wholeheartedly celebrates our heritage but also doesn’t shy away from giving it a contemporary twist. This campaign is all about breaking the sartorial stereotypes and letting people do what makes them happy!”

Aptly named Parindey, the collection is designed to give you wings, “What better name than ‘parindey!’ It's a campaign that sets you free and celebrates your personal flight,” explains Sahil, who has not only gained popularity in India for his designs but has also earned international fame and has been showcasing his Pret collections at WHO’S NEXT PARIS trade show since 2017.

Dedicated to the spirit and dreams of millennial brides, Sahil Kochhar couture defines timeless craftsmanship wrapped in contemporary aesthetics through this collection. With a vision of reinventing bridal couture, the brand celebrates women and men who live life on their own terms and dress them as they are. This very quality also makes the wedding edit stand apart from the rest. Speaking about the USP of the collection, Sahil, who is also a favourite among B-town celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Sara Ali Khan, Anushka Sharma, Hina Khan and others, says, “The biggest USP of this collection is that this collection doesn't mould its customers to be someone else. Beyond trends, beyond rules, I wanted to create timeless pieces. It's fun, flamboyant, full of colours, new techniques, easy silhouettes and more than anything else very very personal.”

Further talking about the mesmerizing collection, Sahil adds, “At Sahil Kochhar, we have always tried to do things our way. May it be our embroideries or our silhouettes, as much as we celebrate our heritage, we don’t shy away from giving it a contemporary twist. I guess this campaign beautifully puts this thought forward.”

Hailed as the custodian of new-age couture, Sahil has masterfully blended iconic techniques with new explorations in this collection. He highlights, “Parindey as a collection sees numerous technique explorations, our signature 3D applique can be seen headlining the collection in various forms of floral and geometric elements. The brand's much-loved jungle artwork finds home in this collection in a newer light. We have introduced a new ‘pixel’ technique in the embroideries that can be seen throughout the ensembles. Our multi-coloured ‘bagh’ embroidery is revisited in this collection, where each floral motif is handcrafted with multi-hued threads using various ‘aari’ and ‘zardozi’ techniques. This collection is an amalgamation of our iconic techniques blended with new explorations at its finest.”

Crafted on the ethos of tradition but influenced by the modern charm, the collection plays host to lehengas, gharara sets, shararas, kurta sets, Nehru jackets, bandgalas, sherwanis, blazers in a colour palette that graduates from ivories, pewter, nudes mixing organically with Aquas, peaches, blues and lilacs. Created with love, each ensemble from Sahil Kochhar’s Parindey collection is deeply rooted in traditions and flavoured with the essence of modern India.

Priced between INR 70,000 to INR 3,00,000, the collection can be purchased from Sahil Kochhar couture's flagship store in Delhi, or through the brands Instagram page or website - https://sahilkochhar.com/
