Bulgari, the magnificent and contemporary Italian jeweler, master of colored gemstones, announces the opening of a new boutique in Holt Renfrew in Vancouver.
Following the renovation of the New York Fifth Avenue flagship and newly opened store in Boston, an architectural concept by Peter Marino is being revealed in key locations across the globe.
The new Bulgari 450 square foot store design utilizes materials that are quintessentially Roman while staying true to the original architecture of the space. Framing the open portal entrance, Black Grand Antique marble and the White Travertino Navona welcomes visitors and introduces a key design element, the Condotti eight point star, in red porphyry. The signature eight-point star dates back to the first Bulgari shop in Rome opened by Sotirio Bulgari in 1884. The star is a unifying symbol found in all Bulgari boutiques, honoring Rome as the brand’s home. 2
On the inside, the flooring features Italian walnut square-patterned parquet with a degrade effect, which evokes an atmosphere flooded by natural sunlight. In the stores center, a light bronze oval-shaped counter in galvanized iron, inspired by the renowned Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, invites customers to explore the iconic collections while a Murano crystal chandelier by Italian artisan Vistosi illuminates the boutique.
Adorned with Imperial Saffron silk, the iconic Condotti windows within the boutique recall the original windows still present in Bulgari’s historic flagship on Via Condotti in Rome. The walls are finished with our signature gold and yellow scagliola plaster and decorated with iconic images of celebrities decorate the walls as a tribute to the brand’s long-standing relationship with Hollywood.
“This milestone marks a special moment for Bulgari, as it brings our Maison’s Roman roots and spirit of innovation to Vancouver, a very important city for the brand,” said Daniel Paltridge, President of Bulgari North America. “We are pleased to open our boutique in Holt Renfrew in a manner that represents the contemporary Bulgari brand while simultaneously paying tribute to our rich, Roman heritage.”
