UBC reaching out to South Asian families for new study

Darpan News Desk, 20 Dec, 2017 01:55 PM
  • UBC reaching out to South Asian families for new study
Hello, Parents!!! UBC has a new study to see how babies from South Asian families learn language! In a one-time visit to UBC your baby can contribute to research and receive a Baby Degree Certificate and an Infant Scientist T-shirt!

The Infant Studies Centre in the Department of Psychology at The University of British Columbia studies how babies learn language as they develop. For their new project they want to see how babies from South Asian language speaking families learn language. The languages they are looking at include Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Tamil, and others.

The Centre is inviting parents who speak these languages to visit with their 0-12 month old baby to participate. For each family it is a one-time visit for 30 minutes at UBC. At the end of the study parents receive a free Infant Scientist T-shirt for their baby along with a Baby Degree Certificate from the university!
