Vancouverites Speak of Sadhguru’s Transformational Inner Engineering Program (Part 1)

Darpan News Desk, 08 Aug, 2017 03:43 PM
Isha Foundation volunteers in Vancouver couldn’t be happier. In the past one year alone, the city has witnessed three major events – the first in October 2016, at Queen Elizabeth Theatre where Sadhguru shared insight on a variety of topics, the second, Inner Engineering Total, also held in October 2016 followed shortly after his talk, and the third in May 2017, at the Vancouver Convention Centre where attendees learnt the powerful Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya from Sadhguru himself. The events have created a wave of discussion centering on how present day issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, lack of focus and insomnia could easily be tackled with the Inner Engineering program.

More and more individuals around the world are pinning stories of transformation coming through Inner Engineering that features a combination of videos by Sadhguru, basic yoga asanas and a powerful meditation practice called the Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya.

As Isha Foundation gears up to host their fourth major event in Vancouver- Inner Engineering Total, we would like to share experiences of previous attendees and how the program has impacted them. Our first story comes from Ginny Guo who is based in Vancouver:

My Name is Ginny Guo. I took the Inner Engineering online course in Feb 2017 and did Shambhavi Mahamudra in May 2017 in Vancouver, Canada.

In the second half of 2016, I was in a deep state of depression for the first time in my life because I felt that nothing could make me happy forever. I started questioning life and was having thoughts about why I should be alive. With all these questions, luckily, I found Sadhguru after a short period of struggle and attended the Inner Engineering course.

The course opened a whole new world to me. I realized happiness is just the background of our life. Living in the world as a human is the most fantastic thing. Now, I am easily enjoying every little thing in my life- leaves, flowers, sunshine etc. I feel more connected to the world. I am aware of my emotions and I can see the cause of them more clearly therefore I get out of uncomfortable emotions much quickly.

I get along better with people I do not like and have less judgement about others. I acknowledge myself more and care less about what others think of me. I feel less stressful at work and do not take work stress back home. I am less worried and less anxious about uncertain things of the future.

My thinking is more positive. Besides all these mental wellness improvements, a big bonus after Shambhavi Mahamudra is that I fall asleep much faster and my sleep quality has improved a lot. Earlier it usually took me around 30 mins to 1 hour to fall asleep, and I usually needed to do a lot of exercises to make myself sleep a little bit better. After two weeks of doing Shambhavi Mahamudra twice a day, I would just fall asleep right way without any struggle and was less awake during my sleep. I feel more energetic in daytime. I am definitely much more happier than ever before.

For the Shambhavi Mahamudra, I was doing the practice twice a day for the first forty days and once a day after that. I would suggest anyone who wants to experience a happier life attend the Inner Engineering program this September.

Inner Engineering Total is taking place in Vancouver from September 7-10. Learn more and book your ticket by clicking here.

Mental illness is like any other physical illness — it does not hamper intelligence, but can cause harm to our health and well-being. Therefore, this health issue should be taken as seriously as other major illnesses like cancer, and more awareness is needed on its causes and cure.

Would we need a sunscreen for the night? Yes, we might because much of the damage that ultraviolet radiation (UV) does to skin occurs hours after sun exposure, say researchers, including one of Indian-origin.
