Our Mission is Your Long-Term Health

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 13 Feb, 2014 05:13 AM
  • Our Mission is Your Long-Term Health
What if you could prevent a disease before it occurred? Advanced Genomics provides a gateway to preventative health care, and the company’s mandate is to ensure their patient’s health through disease prevention.

“Our main focus is to take people out of the diseased category and place them in the healthy category. We want individuals to live healthy, productive lives ensuring long-term happiness,” says Dr. Nisha Dogra, president and CEO of Advanced Genomics.

Dr. Dogra, along with the organization’s Director Dr. Sudarshan Bhagat strive to educate and create awareness for patients in order to prevent and reverse the disease process. With over 30 years of medical, research and scientific education and experience, Dr. Dogra and Dr. Bhagat offer unparallel knowledge, expertise and integrated services for their patients through genome profiling.

The first step is a consultation to assess patient’s health and gain family history plus obtaining genomic information by using 21st century non-invasive next generation technology. By taking only the saliva they can decode your genome, a blue print of your life in addition to biological biomarkers to: find out the root cause of your present diseases; assess the health risk for diseases you are carrying from your ancestors, and predisposition of potential diseases of your future. A personalized and confidential report is then compiled for you.

This easy-to-understand report is available in English or Punjabi. A unique personalized, prevention program is designed by using 360 degree approach.

The goal is to improve a patient’s immune system and repress gene expression, an attempt to reverse the disease process. A unique combination of Dr. Dogra’s medical genetic expertise and Dr. Bhagat’s pathology specialization helps to accelerate the in-depth study of disease pathways. They have the knowledge and tools to reverse wide range of chronic diseases from heart, brain, kidney and liver diseases to arthritis, diabetes, cancer and metabolic disorders.

“We don’t want individuals to live in fear of diseases for the rest of their lives.. so many people suffer just because they don’t take timely preventive approaches. Timely information and intervention can prevent dreadful diseases. These are simple solutions to increasing overall health and well-being,” says Dr. Dogra.

Dr. Bhagat, who is also a professor at the University of British Columbia, adds to this sentiment by saying “Our bodies are integrated and once an individual has a disease, it will go on to impact other parts of their system.”

As many of us have either been sick or have had a sick family member, we know it is often a difficult, stressful cycle to ensure the happiness of the family and overall well-being of our member.

“We offer preventative, integrated and safe health solutions to provide peace-of-mind and longevity,” say Dr. Bhagat and Dr. Dogra. “We want individuals, who know about health risks or predisposition to diseases, to not live in fear for the rest of their lives, but to take appropriate actions through preventative approaches.”

This team relates this to a GPS system, a roadmap of your life, in which individuals know the final destination but they can change or modify the weaker routes to make the end result healthier, productive and stronger.
