  • Style Influencers Lend A Hand To DIY Runway Upcycling Challenge Eleven Of Vancouver’s Top Tastemak
DIY Runway presented by Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada returns to the Vancouver Home + Design Show this year from October 27-30 at the Vancouver Convention Centre- West. The collaboration with some of Vancouver’s top tastemakers is always a show favourite and is all about raising awareness and much-needed funds for Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver.

With a focus on sustainable fashion and of course, home design, this fashionable fundraiser challenges 11 local style influencers to each draw inspiration from a favourite item in their own closet and use it to upcycle a pre-loved item hand-picked themselves from ReStore Vancouver. Using a curated box of supplies provided by Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada, the influencers will be tasked with repurposing an existing piece of furniture into a whole new piece.

At the Home + Design Show, visitors will be encouraged to bid on the items, with 100% of the silent auction proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver to help provide local families with a safe and affordable place to live.

Lovers and enthusiasts of ‘do-it-yourself’ can also get an added dose of inspiration on the Urban Barn Main Stage, where DIY and design expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault will appear on behalf of Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada on Friday, October 28 at 6 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 29 at 4 p.m.

The Vancouver Home + Design Show runs from Thursday, October 27 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, October 30 at 6 p.m. at the Vancouver Convention Centre - West. For more information, or to buy tickets online and save $3, visit vancouverhomeanddesignshow.com

It is that time of the year where colours, lights and cuisines all take on a meaning of their own. This day has several names in India but it is more popularly known as Diwali – “the festival of lights” – and may I add that the festival remains quite true to its name.
