"Makeup with built-in sunscreen, such as foundation, blushes, and lip balms, is also a convenient option.”, recommend Narwal and Gill.

Pavneet Dhanoa from Skinomics Medical Spa reinforces the importance of sunscreen, especially during outdoor activities. "Sunscreen should be worn year-round, not just in the summer. Whether it is sunny, raining, cloudy, or snowing, UV rays from the sun are still damaging our skin. UV exposure causes about 80% of your skin's aging, so it's crucial to be protecting our skin daily. In summer, people spend more time outdoors, making sunscreen a must. Consider mineral sunscreens if you have sensitivity issues.", says Dhanoa. Alongside staying out of direct sunlight, and staying under cover and in shade, wearing a hat is a great way to protect your scalp as well.

Hydrating your skin is equally crucial during hot and humid weather. It is important to hydrate from the inside out with water and moisturizer, opting to use lightweight moisturizers and hydrating toners to protect the skin barrier. Step 3: Apply fragrance-free and alcohol-free aloe vera. 

Step 4: Moisturize and protect the skin barrier. 

While Aquaphor or Vitamin E are great options, regular lotion works as well. The key lies in using cold compresses and moisturizing the area to nourish the skin until healed. Dhanoa adds, "Aloe vera gels, easily available over the counter, are effective for soothing sun-exposed skin, while products like La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP+M can soothe itching, flare ups, and rebalance the skin's microbiome.”
