OLO introduces weekday lunch and weekend brunch

Darpan News Desk, 31 May, 2016 10:46 AM
  • OLO introduces weekday lunch and weekend brunch
Victoria's popular organic, farm-to-table restaurant OLO is pleased to announce that it has opened it's doors for lunch on Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, and weekend brunch from 9am to 2pm. Feast with friends and family on fresh, local and fun food any day of the week, nestled in the heart of Victoria's bustling Chinatown neighbourhood.

OLO offers fresh experiences for locals hungry for more than just a meal. Step inside the brick-clad dining room and enjoy a warm welcome amongst the farmhouse-inspired space, which features rustic post-and-beam construction and a book nook that creates a home away from home.

Tuck into hearty breakfast dishes such as Green Things & Eggs with organic poached eggs, sunflower seeds, green vegetables and salsa verde ($14), or the breakfast sandwich with egg patty, kimchi ketchup, ham, cheddar, lettuce and roesti ($14). Guests can also enjoy comforting handmade pastas, including herb gemelli with charred leeks and mushrooms, chilli, asparagus and grana padano ($12/17).

"We switch up our sustainable seasonal menus depending on what's coming through the doors of the kitchen every day," says OLO's Executive Chef and Owner Brad Holmes. "Our philosophy has always been to grow, buy and eat fresh organic food from Vancouver Island, supporting our hard-working neighbours who take care in supplying sustainably harvested food products."

The OLO team is excited to be part of the Slow Food Chefs Alliance, which underscores their dedication to local, quality ingredients supplied by individuals in the community who work with respect for the environment. This focus on fresh produce means veggie-forward menus with plenty of vegan options. At dinnertime, the five-course Kitchen Menu features Chef Brad Holmes' favourite dishes, priced at $55 per person, and vegetarians or vegans can savour a five-course 'farms and forests' menu, priced at $45 per person.

Behind the bar guests will find handcrafted seasonal cocktails, which showcase the best of Vancouver Island products. The bar program highlights the region's bounties with an impressive list of B.C. distilleries, breweries and wineries, as well as rare Canadian whiskeys.
