Celebrated Indian-American Chef Floyd Cardoz, Chef- Partner of The Bombay Canteen (Bombay, India) and Paowalla (New York, USA), opens O Pedro, an all-day, Goa-inspired bar and restaurant in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, in partnership with Sameer Seth and Yash Bhanage. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Hussain Shahzad, an alumnus of Eleven Madison Park in New York City.
O Pedro is inspired by Goa and created for the bustling city of Mumbai. Expect beverages that bring back the fun of tropical living and simple, sophisticated food that reflects Goa’s stunning culinary diversity, going back to its Portuguese influences and beyond. O Pedro pulses with the energy of Goa’s lazy days and joyous, buzzing evenings, transitioning from one to another just as Goa does. It’s a celebration of a place everyone loves. It is centuries of history and culture. It’s a sense of community and a unique view of the world. It is laid-back calm and bohemian mischief; it is days at the beach and nights full of music (and plenty of wild dancing).
There’s food inspired by Goa’s many vibrant cuisines from the Catholic community’s offering to the local Saraswat community to Portuguese influences that are centuries old. The food at O Pedro sidesteps Goa’s touristy flavours to evoke all this rich, complex culinary history. Just as there’s a meal for every hour of the day and all kinds of hunger in Goa, O Pedro will serve food just right for everything, from quick work breaks to late-night debauchery. It retains all the comfort and elegance of Goan food, with an edge that comes from innovation and the occasional contemporary element.
