Situated just steps from English Bay, Beach Bay Café and Patio is ideal for summertime lounging - and to celebrate its one-year anniversary, the restaurant has opened its doors for daily brunch, lunch and dinner, inviting diners to enjoy Executive Chef Felix Zhou's fresh West Coast fare around the clock.
Initially available only on weekends, Beach Bay's brunch is now being dished up every day of the week. The menu features playful favourites like the smoked cheddar omelette and apple fennel salad, warm brioche with house-made jam, and bottomless mimosas. Chef and his team have also added new items to tempt palates city-wide, including the smoke salmon sandwich on olive bread smothered with cream cheese and cucumber. Fresh and innovative food, sparkling drinks and a killer ocean view - can it get any better?
Why yes, it can. It's not a party without a special feast, which is why Chef has also crafted a four-course hamachi tasting menu. Inspired by the bounty of New Zealand, the set menu stars fresh New Zealand fish served raw, seared and cooked, and ends on a sweet note with a delectable dessert - and all for just $49 (plus tax). The menu is available in June only.
"The days are getting longer and sunnier, and that means more time to spend eating and drinking with friends, family and coworkers," said Chef Zhou. "Beach Bay Café is the perfect spot to take full advantage of the season, and that's why we're kicking off summer and celebrating our one-year birthday with a feast that showcases one of my favourite types of seafood. It's a delicious summer meal with just the right balance between exotic and approachable."
Fresh off the heels of securing first place at the Vancouver International Tequila Expo cocktail competition, Beach Bay Café's Bar Manager Adrian Lindner is bringing his award-winning Brushfire Fairy Tales cocktail to the menu, along with a selection of summer-inspired sippers. "We've come up with fun new cocktails to complement Chef's menu, and encourage diners to stop by for brunch drinks, nightcaps and anytime in-between" said Lindner. "Our patio is also hands-down one of the best in Vancouver: postcard-perfect views of the beach and Pacific Ocean, the bustling boardwalk and a stunning sunset."
Beach Bay Café has one final anniversary present for diners: daily Happy Hour between 3pm and 5pm, with specials ranging from oysters, beef carpaccio and scallop ceviche, to the soon-to-be famous daily poutine - all complemented by house wine and B.C. beer.
