IIHF’s World Junior Hockey Championships are kicking off by hosting an event at Langley Events Centre on Sunday December 23rd. Hockey Canada is providing an opportunity for our youth to take part in a free event to encourage participation in sports with the support of corporate sponsors TELUS and Canadian Tire.
Hockey Canada, TELUS and Candian Tire, in cooperation with Kids Play Foundation, invite all of you to LEC this coming Sunday, where teams participating in the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship will be practicing and playing exhibition games. The goal of this community skate is to invite youth, who may have never played organized hockey before, to actively engage in the sport. Apna Hockey, a South Asian community based hockey school, will be providing skating, hockey skills and off-ice training clinics to youth.
The skills clinics for youth are free of cost. Participants will also be provided with ice skates and hockey equipment for the workshops. White Spot will be generously providing food and refreshments to all attending.
The public is urged to pre-register due to limited spots. We encourage parents to attend with their kids. Please rsvp on our page to ensure that you are registered. There will be free transportation provided from: Surrey Central Station and Bear Creek Park at 9:30AM (Please note anyone who arrives after 10AM may miss the bus). Once again, only those who register with us will be given the opportunity to board and attend the event. Kids Play Foundation will be overseeing registration, please email contact@kidsplayfoundation for any questions.
Registration starts at 11AM. We encourage everyone to arrive early.
