WAMS Luncheon celebrates influential female leaders on a mission to end MS

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver22 Nov '18 @ 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
The Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) Luncheon is back at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel on November 22, 2018. An initiative of the MS Society of Canada, WAMS is a powerful network of prominent and determined female leaders who are the backbone of this annual event with a keen desire to use their knowledge and influence to inspire others in support of the fight to end MS.

The luncheon attracts leading professionals and organizations from a wide range of industries in support of the movement to end MS.  In addition to raising funds for MS research and support, the luncheon is a networking event that provides table purchasers and sponsors high profile exposure.

Since its foundation in 2015, WAMS has raised over $305,000.

This year WAMS is pleased to honour Darcie and Kevin James who will be recognized at the event for their outstanding support in helping to raise MS awareness and funds towards a future without MS.  Additionally, WAMS is pleased to welcome Dianne Doyle as the guest speaker for this year’s luncheon.  Former President and Chief Executive Officer of Providence Health Care, Dianne made a significant impact on the health and well-being of many of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our society.

Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with women being universally and disproportionately three times more likely than men to be affected by this unpredictable, often disabling disease.  With the help of influential leaders, professionals and MS research-focused fundraising, we are in an era where our learnings will continue to develop into real, meaningful and tangible impacts.
