Workplace Integration for Mature Immigrants (WIMI 45+)

    Are you a new immigrant, unable to find a job? Employability skills workshop now available at the Vancouver location. Call now to reserve a seat for ongoing sessions. PICS Society provides a new employment program called Workplace Integration for Mature Immigrants(WIMI 45+). This program partners with local community and business employers, one to one follow up support, job mentoring and specific skills training to generate job opportunities for mature workers.

    Next session starts on May 23 2016 at PICS Vancouver location at 8159 Main Street, BC, V5X 3L2.

    Eligibility criteria:

    ·         A mature immigrant (Permanent Resident or a Citizen) 45 years or older

    ·         Unemployed, underemployed under 20 hours per week

    ·         Non – EI  recipient and not attending school

    ·         Job ready, committed and motivated to enter local labour market

    ·         Resident in metro Vancouver area 

    This program offers:

    ·         Career assessments on job compatibility

    ·         Learn labour market trends and sharpen employability skills

    ·         Specific short term training and acquire work experience

    ·         Enhance life skills and lifelong learning

    ·         Pair Mentorship with your original profession

    ·         Job placement assistance and support follow up

    ·         Develop work action plan and employer engagement
