  • Renowned Indian journalist to discuss India in transition at SFU
Simon Fraser University’s School for International Studies will host a discussion with one of India’s top journalists, Shekhar Gupta, on understanding India in transition, on Monday, Oct. 24 from 1-3 p.m. at SFU Vancouver Harbour Centre.
 
Gupta will deliver the 2016 Dhahan Lecture at SFU prior to a similar event at Carleton University on Oct. 25. The events are presented by the Canada-India Centre for Excellence based at Carleton.
 
At SFU, the discussion will be moderated by Prof. S. Parasuraman, director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and currently a visiting scholar in the school.
 
Gupta writes for such publications as India’s Business Standard and India Today and was formerly editor-in-chief of the Indian Express. He also hosts a pair of news shows on NDTV, India’s top English news channel. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government for his contributions to journalism.
