This summer, magical nights await visitors to Whistler at Vallea Lumina, a groundbreaking experience that will bring Cougar Mountain's old-growth forest to life. Created by Montreal-based Moment Factory, and brought to Whistler by The Adventure Group, this multimedia experience invites guests into an enchanting universe, inspired by Whistler's unparalleled natural beauty and local culture.
The critically acclaimed Lumina night walk series is the esteemed concept of Moment Factory, an award-winning multimedia entertainment studio specializing in the production of immersive and mesmerizing environments; previously collaborating on events with Madonna, the NFL, the Sagrada Familia and Arcade Fire, among others. Following the success of seven previous nightwalk experiences across the globe, Moment Factory has partnered with The Adventure Group, Whistler's premiere adventure and activity operator, to stage Vallea Lumina at Cougar Mountain. Located just eight minutes north of Whistler Village, in the heart of a lush rainforest with a stunning backdrop of mountain and valley views, the setting lends an otherworldly atmosphere to the experience. Inspired by the local culture and the natural beauty of its location, the nightwalk will use a universal language, speak to audiences of all ages and interests and bring generations together using a combination of emotive lights, videos, soundscape and scenography. Guests will feel transported to another world, with plenty of opportunities to touch, play, explore and engage with the environment.
"Our company exists to create moments that will be memorable and impactful through their interaction with nature", says The Adventure Group Founder & CEO Joey Houssian. "Introducing an interactive, outdoor, multimedia nightwalk is an exciting evolution for us, and one I can't wait to share. The collaboration between Moment Factory and The Adventure Group has been very special and to see two leaders in their respective fields come together to create something like this for Whistler has been rewarding in many ways, not least of which has been working with some of the most creative people on the planet."
