The Consulate General of India in Vancouver presents Namaste Canada 2019

Massey Theatre, 735 Eighth Avenue31 Aug '19 @ 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The Consulate General of India invites the Press on 31st August 2019 from 1:30 pm onward at Massey Theater to attend and cover NAMSTE CANADA 2019 which is in its 4th Edition this year.

The event will begin with an impressive opening ceremony followed by performances from various states representing India's rich culture and heritage through music and dance. Namaste Canada has become a very successful annual event, the 4th in succession since its inception in 2016.

A wide array of dances and music from the different states of India will be presented and performed by resident Indian Diaspora in cooperation with the local Indo-Canadian Associations and Cultural Societies on a voluntary basis to present this very spectacular experience of Incredible India to all communities in B.C.

The objective of this annual event is to celebrate together and bring awareness of India's rich vibrant culture and heritage to further continue to strengthen the flourishing ties between India and Canada and all other communities.

This very successful event has been very well attended each year to packed houses. This prompted us to choose a larger venue for this year’s edition as we expect an even larger audience. The various dances represent old folklores and stories woven into unique dance forms. The wide range of classical and folk dances are specific to their different regions, local festivals, auspicious occasions or change of seasons. Some dances are slow, gentle, elegant and graceful, while others are fast and vigorous. Each dance depicts stories of India through stunning live performances and visuals that will mesmerize the audiences! A memorable event not to be missed!

A variety of appetizing Indian culinary specialties will be on sale to enjoy through the day!

    On: Saturday, 31 August, 2019
Venue: Massey Theatre, 735 Eighth Avenue, New Westminster
Time: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
    ***Free Entry***
