The After After Party

VANCITY CULTURE LAB06 Mar '18 to 17 Mar '18 @ 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • The After After Party
The Cultch is thrilled to present The After After Party running March 6-17, in the Vancity Culture Lab. Each year The Cultch awards one Vancouver Fringe Festival show that demonstrates a strong potential for further development the Cultchivating the Fringe Award. In 2016, The After After Party, created and performed by comic dream team Katey Hoffman and Cheyenne Mabberley, swept the Fringe award ceremonies, taking home not only the Cultchivating the Fringe award but also The Georgia Straight Critics’ Choice Award and the 2016 Public Market Pick of the Fringe Awards. Now, after the opportunity to develop The After After Party into an even more outrageous production, we are excited to give Vancouver audiences a chance to see the bigger, better, badder, banger!

The year is 2006, the place, Vancouver, Canada. Jules and Fiona, best friends in the prime of their life— highschool — wake up in what appears to be a raccoon sanctuary. Where are they? They don’t know. How’d they get there? Good question. Where are they going? The after, after party!  With no memory of their wild evening, and with high hopes of finding the location of the elusive after, after party, these two teenage misfits decide to attempt drug activated time travel. With a little help from enormous amounts of Ritalin, Jules and Fiona travel through time and space piecing together the over-the-top events that lead to their fireball-induced amnesia. Irreverent and absolutely fearless, The After After Party is an outrageous and absurd tribute to friendship and the adolescent outcasts we all know and love (and may still be at heart).
