Queen Elizabeth Theatre celebrates 60 years with a 60’s-style Mid-century Madness

Queen Elizabeth Theatre26 Oct '19 @ 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Join in for “Mid-Century Madness” a dress-up party celebrating 60 years at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

On Saturday, October 26th, dress up in your favourite 60’s attire, think the stylings of one “Don Draper” or rather, “Peggy Olson”, and prepare for a journey in the time machine.

The year is 1959, shoppers are on the hunt for the latest in mod fashion at the newly opened Oakridge Shopping Centre. In the background, children are buzzing over the first Barbie doll just about to hit the shelves and an eerie theme song from The Twilight Zone, a newly introduced television show, plays in the distance. This is the year that Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre welcomes its first guests.

“Mid-Century Madness” celebrates the 60 years of the beloved Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the talented artists and show stopping entertainers to grace the Vancouver stage.

Enjoy a welcome glass of bubbly, make your way through the flashing lights and glam photo booth, take in art from the decade, and party in style throughout the Queen Elizabeth Theatre lobby exhibits. Get ready to dance the night away with a vibrant and soulful live performance by Vancouver’s own Dawn Pemberton and musical stylings by DJ Veronica and Trumpeter Malcolm Aiken late into the night.

Join us for this throwback celebration in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre lobby. To commemorate the 1959 inaugural year, tickets are priced at only $19.59 and won’t break the bank.
