Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre26 Nov '15 to 27 Dec '15 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
This story of the celebrated character with the never-ending childhood traces his journey from lonely orphan to beloved boy hero. Audiences are transported to a, whimsical world filled with swashbuckling pirates, magic amulets, and singing mermaids. Join the intrepid Peter (Benjamin Wardle) and his cunning companion, Molly (Rachel Cairns), on an adventure that takes them the decks of the Neverland. Aboard the ship, they are challenged by the pirate Black Stache (Colleen Wheeler) and his first mate, Smee (Emmelia Gordon). Cheer for Peter and his ragtag crew as they risk their lives to protect the Queen’s secret treasure and save their friends.
“Peter and the Starcatcher is truly a remarkable play because it depends so much on you to participate with an active imagination,” says director David Mackay. “The actors play a multitude of characters, sometimes switching characters before your eyes, and other times actors are incorporated directly into the scenery as props. The creators of this play cleverly designed the show so that the actors provide the key elements, and then your imagination pretends the rest, often with staggering creative results.”
Peter and the Starcatcher will be the first production to appear on the Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre, followed by The (Post) Mistress (February 4-28) and the world premiere of Onegin (March 17-April 10).
